Check out this AMAZING Michigan Vodka. My hubby and I have successfully plowed through our first bottle and are working on our second... Yummy! You won’t find a better tasting vodka. Check out this article from Drinks Media Wire:

(Drinks Media Wire). Grand Traverse Distillery, Northern Michigan's only vodka micro-distillery, was recently awarded a Gold Medal for its True North Premium Vodka by the prestigious Beverage Tasting Institute (BTI). The BTI gave True North Vodka an “exceptional” rating of 92 points at its 2007 International Review of Spirits Competition, September 12, in Chicago.

“We are extremely pleased with our ranking,” says Kent Rabish, who began distributing the True North Vodka in June of this year. “It is an honor for a new micro-distillery like ours to receive such a strong ranking just months after being released.”

The International Review of Spirits is the most authoritative, influential and respected annual spirits competition in the United States. Major and boutique spirits producers and importers from around the world participate in the competitions each year.

The online review of True North Vodka states: “Clear. Cream, powdered sugar, dried citrus peel, and delicate spice and nut aromas. A smooth silky entry leads to a off-dry medium body of meringue, toasted hazelnut, honeyed fig, and delicate spice. Finishes with a delicate creamy vanilla and wet stone fade. A very smooth and flavorful vodka with an elegant style. Will make a great martini.”

Founded in 1981, BTI is recognized as one of America’s premier, independent, alcoholic beverage review organizations by leaders of the beverage industry such as the Chicago Tribune, New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Business 2.0, BusinessWeek, CNBC, the BBC, theStreet.com and numerous other consumer and trade publications. Millions of consumers look to BTI's fair and impartial reviews on Tastings.com when making decisions regarding the purchase of spirits.

“BTI utilizes a proprietary blind tasting methodology that has been developed over years of experimentation and conforms the American Society of Testing and Materials guidelines for product testing and advertising claims,” according to Jerald O’Kennard, BTI Director.

True North is super-premium vodka that celebrates the natural gifts abundant to Michigan's 45th parallel. Ingredients originate from the beautiful Grand Traverse region, where the rich soils produce the quality rye and the crystal clear glacial waters blend to create this premium vodka. With these quality ingredients and the triple distillation process, True North Vodka is truly one of a kind.

Available in the original rye and the newest natural cherry, True North Vodka retails for $29.99 per bottle and is available at spirit retailers throughout the state. Plan ahead, even the night before, to have a delicious meal ready on time for his return. This is a way of letting him know that you have be thinking about him and are concerned about his needs. Most men are hungry when they get home and the prospect of a good meal is part of the warm welcome needed.
* Prepare yourself. Take 15 minutes to rest so you'll be refreshed when he arrives. Touch up your make-up, put a ribbon in your hair and be fresh-looking. He has just been with a lot of work-weary people.
* Be a little gay and a little more interesting for him. His boring day may need a lift and one of your duties is to provide it.
* Clear away the clutter. Make one last trip through the main part of the house just before your husband arrives. Run a dust cloth over the tables.
* During the cooler months of the year you should prepare and light a fire for him to unwind by. Your husband will feel he has reached a haven of rest and order, and it will give you a lift too. After all, catering to his comfort will provide you with immense personal satisfaction.
* Minimize all noise. At the time of his arrival, eliminate all noise of the washer, dryer or vacuum. Encourage the children to be quiet.
* Be happy to see him.
* Greet him with a warm smile and show sincerity in your desire to please him.
* Listen to him. You may have a dozen important things to tell him, but the moment of his arrival is not the time. Let him talk first - remember, his topics of conversation are more important than yours.
* Don't greet him with complaints and problems.
* Don't complain if he's late for dinner or even if he stays out all night. Count this as minor compared to what he might have gone through at work.
* Make him comfortable. Have him lean back in a comfortable chair or lie him down in the bedroom. Have a cool or warm drink ready for him.
* Arrange his pillow and offer to take off his shoes. Speak in a low, soothing and pleasant voice.
* Don't ask him questions about his actions or question his judgment or integrity. Remember, he is the master of the house and as such will always exercise his will with fairness and truthfulness. You have no right to question him.
* A good wife always knows her place.
Who are these people and where are their parents?

After sitting in the Florida sun for a week I had a chance to catch up on my gossip magazine reading. Heavy stuff, I know. But I’ll admit that I enjoy the occasional tabloid. With all of the happenings in the Spears family it begs the question; Who raised these girls? After reading that Jamie Lynn has proudly obtained her GED after becoming knocked up by her underaged boyfriend and moving into a double wide mobile home! You go girl! You, triple threat!

I digress, my head is spinning over the craziness. I mean, the whole Brittany saga is trauma enough. When you add the trials and tribulations of her much younger sister its overwhelming. A statement from the family regarding Jamie Lynn's educational document from People magazine, “Everybody is so supportive of her.”

Really? Supportive? And, so I guess now is the time to be supportive since obviously nobody has been there at all for this poor child. She is a child. 16 is hardly enough years to be making decisions like buying your fetus’ father a four-wheel drive truck. Like she was seen doing with her father. Way to go Dad! What a way to pony up to the plate by showing your daughter you love and support her.

I KNOW all of this sounds harsh and God forbid either of my children end up in a teen pregnancy. I am well aware that this situation could happen to any good parent. My beef lies with the obvious introduction into fame that these kids have been thrown into. It seems there is a serious lack of strategy and vision other than the Spears family genes that guarantee pretty smiles and big boobs to climb the ladder of life.
